Fedrigoni Group will open a new slitting centre in Frechen, near Cologne, in late 2025 to improve service across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Northern France.

The 6400sqm facility will be equipped with three “next-generation” slitting machines, each capable of processing 2-meter-wide rolls. According to the company, it is expected to produce up to 90 million square meters of premium paper and film-based self-adhesive materials annually. Target sectors for the site include luxury packaging, food and beverage, personal care, and retail.

“The goal is to improve lead times and service levels by locating closer to our customers,” said Ricardo Girón, Fedrigoni’s vice president of global operations. He noted that market demands have shifted in recent years, requiring greater responsiveness and operational efficiency.

Fedrigoni selected the Segro Park Frechen site for both its location and sustainable design. Recycled materials from site redevelopment were used in construction, and the facility will use heat pumps powered by rooftop solar panels.

The new centre complements Fedrigoni’s existing slitting facility in Poland, which serves north-eastern Europe. Together, the company said the sites represent a broader push to strengthen its European logistics and distribution network.
