UK-based flexible packaging specialist Parkside has bolstered its position in the global tobacco packaging market with a new focus on innovation, sustainability, and talent. As part of this shift, the company has established a dedicated global tobacco team, with a significant presence in the UK to drive growth and support evolving industry demands.

As the tobacco sector undergoes transformation, Parkside is positioning itself as a key packaging partner for brands navigating this change, offering sustainable, high-performance solutions across a variety of tobacco formats.

Leading the new initiative is Laura Haggerty, an experienced tobacco industry specialist, who takes on the dual role of account director and sales account manager for tobacco. Based in the UK, Ms Haggerty will spearhead efforts to deepen client relationships and identify new opportunities.

“I’m excited to lead and develop our tobacco sales strategy,” said Ms Haggerty. “Our focus is on creating impactful change, driving innovation, and supporting our clients with cutting-edge, sustainable packaging.”

The UK team also includes Eliska Dobson, tobacco account manager, who will work alongside Ms Haggerty to serve both domestic and international clients. Together with Malaysia-based new business development manager Lu Chay Wang, who brings knowledge of the APAC market, Parkside now believes it boasts a globally integrated team with local expertise.

Parkside’s packaging capabilities include carton wraps, RYO and stand-up pouches, all of which can be produced using materials tailored to clients’ sustainability goals. Options include foil laminates, PE, PET, PP, OPP, and paper-based substrates, designed to deliver the precise barrier performance required for modern tobacco products.

The company stated that the investment marks a significant step in its commitment to shaping the future of tobacco packaging – starting with a strong foundation in the UK.
