Manufacturer of surface profile inspection systems MicroDynamics has released a new magnetic base accessory for the Veritas anilox microscope.
The new attachment allows operators to measure anilox rolls directly on press, eliminating the need for roll removal for large flexo operations. It can be easily applied and removed without tools, making it versatile and portable, holding at angles of up to 90 degrees, explained MicroDynamics.
The magnetic base is said to ensure that operators can securely attach the Veritas microscope on press, even in tight or angled spaces. Large format flexo printers, such as corrugated and flexible packaging converters with large and heavy anilox rolls or sleeves, can now effectively use MicroDynamics inspection systems in their quality control processes, the company added.
“From direct to consumer and eCommerce growth to brands seeking sustainable packaging alternatives, corrugated converters are seeing demand for higher print quality,” stated Brent Zurcher, director of operations. “With the introduction of the magnetic base, converters of all sizes can improve print quality through anilox QC processes equipped with the speed and accuracy of MicroDynamics systems.”
MicroDynamics believes the Veritas microscope is known in the flexo industry for its 10 second scans, +/-1% repeatability, user-friendly interface and innovation. With the new accessory, the microscope is now more adaptable to the challenging conditions of a working pressroom, the company concluded.
