A new partnership between MA Print Products (MAPP) and Wink is set to provide “significant” benefits for converters in the UK and Ireland, offering enhanced access to flexible die-cutting technology. This collaboration aims to support the growing demand for flexible dies in the narrow web label market.

Earlier this year, MAPP introduced Performance Flex Dies, a range of high-quality flexible dies manufactured by die-cutting specialist Wink at its facility in Germany. According to MAPP, these dies are ideal for cutting various label shapes and sizes and can be used in both semi-rotary and full-rotary systems, as well as flatbed processes. Available with specialised coatings, including MC, MCR, and non-stick options, these dies ensure reduced adhesive and ink residue transfer, improving efficiency for converters, explained MAPP.

MAPP’s Performance Flex Dies are part of the company’s expanding Performance Line portfolio, offering converters solutions compatible with all equipment brands. The flexible die market is projected to reach nearly $200 million (£155 million) by the end of the decade, growing at a compound annual rate of 6.8%, stated MAPP.

Andy Clarke, MAPP’s European operations director, emphasised the importance of high-quality tooling in the label industry, stating that flexible dies offer a competitive edge with faster production, reduced storage, and improved economies of scale.

Through this partnership, MAPP provides UK and Ireland converters with priority access to reliable, rapid delivery of these advanced tools, ensuring a 24- to 48-hour turnaround.
