Dr. Andreas Pleßke, CEO of Koenig & Bauer, has been re-elected as the chair of the drupa committee, with Wolfgang Poppen of Freiburger elected as his deputy. Mr Pleßke said that there will be a commitment to ensure that the trade show constantly develops, as it prepares the groundwork for key decisions to be taken for drupa 2028.
Mr Poppen described drupa as the centrepiece of the industry, a place of innovations and technology launches. The coming months will be used to sharpen the profile of drupa’s position in 2028, he added. Exhibitor registration for drupa 2028 is to open in twelve months’ time.
Under the leadership of Mr Pleßke, drupa stated it will continue to develop and provide high-calibre knowledge and stronger networking opportunities, with an increasing focus on brand owners and multipliers.
Outlined by drupa, a central component of the new strategy is the identification and presentation of relevant technology trends, that determine the future of the print and packaging industry. Topics such as AI, automation, sustainable printing processes and digital transformation continue to be centre stage in all this, it added.
In addition to Mr Pleßke’s election as chairman, four new members have also been included in the committee. These members are Markus Hoffmann, executive senior vice president of Kurz; Marcel Martens, general manager industrial print EMEA for HP Indigo and PageWide at HP Industrial Printing; Thomas Heininger, CEO of MBO Postpress Solutions, and Komori International Europe; and Peter Voigt, managing director of Perfecta Schneidemaschinenwerk.
