Flexo plate and equipment manufacturer XSYS has designed a new flat-top dot flexo plate, nyloflex XSN, which the company says combines unparalleled performance with maximum flexibility, catering to the diverse needs of narrow web printers.
Florian Hoelzle, product manager for nyloflex plates at XSYS, said the new plate has a ‘unique’ flat-top dot structure and new CleanRelease Technology. This, he added, ensures cleaner plates, longer print runs, and minimal press downtime – making it a ‘game-changer’ in the narrow web segment.
The nyloflex XSN is a plate compatible with both thermal and solvent processing methods, providing printers with versatility and flexibility for quick design changes and efficient plate turnaround times, explained the company. This dual compatibility allows seamless adaptation without the need for additional equipment or process changes, and the plate also eliminates the need for additional exposure units or consumables, achieving results right out of the box, stated XSYS.
Featuring the new CleanRelease Technology, the plate’s formulation prevents ink buildup on the plate surface, reducing the need for frequent cleanings and press stops, improving overall equipment efficiency, said XSYS.
Additionally, the nyloflex XSN is designed to perform well with UV inks, as well as water-based and solvent-based inks – ensuring ‘outstanding’ print quality across paper and film substrates, according to the company.
‘At XSYS, our goal is to help customers achieve brilliance through innovative solutions that simplify production and enhance productivity, said Mr Hoelzle. ‘The nyloflex XSN embodies this vision by combining cutting-edge technology with practical usability, setting a new standard for narrow web printing.’
