MPS Systems has reintroduced its real-time operator tool, VirtualCoach, saying the evolution marks a new chapter in how it supports and enhances the efficiency of MPS press operations.

According to MPS, by leveraging all of its connectivity and performance services, customers can increase average production volume by 10% annually, reduce setup material waste by 2%, and save over $100,000 (£78,910). These results are not only achievable but common among customers, added the company.

Building on VirtualCoach’s data-driven insights, AI and real-time support, the tool comes with a new face named Emmy, which MPS says has been designed to bridge the gap between management objectives and operator actions, providing personalised, actionable guidance tailored to each operator’s behaviour – turning data into specific advice that improves both efficiency and performance.

The key benefits of VirtualCoach, according to MPS, are: alignment of management and operator goals; enhanced operator involvement; and continuous improvement through personalised feedback. Additionally, the tool helps prevent and resolve issues before they become costly, providing proactive support which maximises uptime and ensures the machine remains in peak condition.

Emmy also offers instant, on-the-job training, making it easier for operators to develop new skills and adopt best practices quickly. With personalised feedback updated every five seconds, operators can enhance their proficiency, making full use of machine automation features like job memory and auto-registration.
