US flexible packaging manufacturer Admiral Packaging has moved to full production with Hamillroad Software’s Bellissima DMS screening technology, following recent trials of the technology that it says have shown improvements in print quality, colour accuracy, and production efficiency.

Hamillroad launched Bellissima DMS in 2017, and claims that it provides an opportunity for printers and converters to optimise production and reduce costs. According to Hamillroad, Admiral can now deliver even finer detail with reduced environmental impact.

Robert Hummell, Admiral Packaging’s vice president of operations, said, ‘Adopting Bellissima DMS allows us to deliver exceptional print quality, matching the high standards of gravure printing while offering the flexibility and efficiency of our advanced processes. Investment in Bellissima’s innovative technology underscores our dedication to exceeding our customers’ expectations, elevating the visual appeal of their packaging on-shelf.’

The delivery has been supported by Hamillroad’s partners Cyber Graphics, a certified Bellissima DMS plate making partner for the past six years, and Wikoff Color Corporation, the US distributor for Asahi Photoproducts, which manufactures the plates used. David Bell, director of Wikoff, commented, ‘By combining the Bellissima DMS technology with Asahi’s AFP flat-top washable solvent plate, we can now achieve remarkable precision replicating gravure-printed packaging.’
