Narrow web printing ink manufacturer Pulse Roll Label Products (Pulse) has teamed up with Mark Andy, manufacturer of narrow and mid web printing and finishing equipment, to showcase Monolox, Pulse’s fixed anilox printing process, at a free open house event – hosted by Mark Andy – in Warsaw, Poland, on 26 September.
Jim Whitehead, export sales director of Pulse, explained that the Monolox system allows printers to produce any spot colour with just one anilox volume, reducing the associated downtime of anilox selection, minimising waste, and cutting variability out of label printing. The event will feature live print runs and demonstrations that display the benefits Monolox can help businesses unlock, continued Mr Whitehead.
Monolox uses the PureTone series of high-strength, single-pigment bases that can achieve a delta E of less than two, combined with all the information required for instant colour matching, producing any half or full tone from just one anilox – improving productivity while driving efficiency, according to Pulse.
Mr Whitehead added, ‘The strength of the PureTone inks used in the Monolox system means consumption is reduced by 30% on average. With less ink printed, printers not only benefit from lower expenditure but also cause less harm to the environment through unnecessary raw material use and the associated greenhouse gas emissions.’
Pulse highlighted another benefit of Monolox as its rapid turnaround. Its ‘pit-stop rivalling make-ready’ response puts flexo within touching distance of digital, while using less ink and curing with LED, both of which also contribute to sustainability goals, the company said.
Mark Andy Poland director, Przemysław Polkowski said, ‘The combination of high-strength, single-pigment UV flexo inks and fixed anilox printing in Monolox can deliver real-world benefits and improve both production efficiency as well as the bottom line.’
