Romanian printing company Exodus has spoken about its decision to switch from offset to flexo, through the installation of a Nilpeter FA-17 press.
The move was prompted by a stagnation in demand for conventional printing, alongside a rising demand for more specialised packaging and labels. Nilpeter partner Europtop Grafix SRL was involved in the transaction.
‘Our decision to select the Nilpeter FA-17 was largely influenced by its ability to deliver exceptional print quality at high speeds, all while keeping energy consumption to a minimum, thanks to its UV LED technology. This aligns perfectly with our commitment to being the most eco-friendly flexo printer in the region,’ said Calin Panaite, COO and printing manager at Exodus.
‘Moreover, the press’s ease of operation, quick turnaround times, cost-effective consumables, and the strong support from Nilpeter have been crucial for its seamless integration into our workflow.’
Exodus said the transition to flexography was not without its challenges, with a learning curve associated with adopting new technology. However, it said comprehensive training and quality advice provided by Nilpeter eased this shift. Since the installation of the press, the company has expanded its market reach and significantly boosted turnover – a growth that Exodus attributes to the press’s ability to meet diverse print demands efficiently and sustainably.
