Esko has announced the appointment of a new president – Joël Depernet, who has for more than three years served as the company’s chief technical officer, a period which the company says has seen it develop ‘significant innovations as it has evolved into the leading packaging prepress solutions business of today’.
Mr Depernet studied engineering at École Centrale Paris and École Centrale de Lyon, before embarking on a career that saw him take on senior roles with Dassault Systemes, Cegedim and Axway, before joining Esko in March 2020.
Esko recently divested from its previous parent company Danaher as part of Veralto, a separate, publicly traded company composed of 13 operating companies – Aquatic Informatics, ChemTreat, Esko, Hach, Linx, McCrometer, OTT HydroMet, Pantone, Sea-Bird Scientific, Trojan Technologies, Videojet, XOS and X-Rite.
These events led Mr Depernet to describe this as a ‘hugely exciting time for the business’, adding that he was ‘delighted and deeply honoured’ to now take on the role of president.
‘Following the market uncertainty and volatility that we all experienced in recent years, our business has a clear focus on delivering innovations that enable our customers to connect systems and workflows, automate processes, and accelerate innovation to help them navigate the challenges they face in today’s market,’ said Mr Depernet.
‘With sustainability and digitalisation fundamentally altering how the industry operates, we see it as imperative that we bring to market solutions that help today’s packaging companies reduce waste-generating errors throughout the entire production process, enabling them to boost their efficiency, reduce costs and improve their overall productivity.’
