UK-based reprographics supplier MPH says it has doubled its flexo plate production capability by investing in a new plate imaging unit from Esko.
The CDI Spark Imager is the second such at the company and follows a recent investment in a Vianord Engineering flexo plate processor at the Manningtree, Essex, site.
‘Our philosophy has always been to keep at the cutting edge of development and this latest investment enables us to offer our clients the best technology to meet market demand,’ said MPH director Ian Runacres.
‘We are committed to staying at the forefront of technology, and this newest installation brings our total investment to nearly half a million pounds since 2020 alone.’
The business was founded in 1982 as a prepress artwork studio and platemaking business and gained a renewed focus in 2020 after a management buyout. It produces work for print and packaging sectors such as labels, flexibles, pharmaceuticals and security, as well as the emerging electronic printing sector.
Mike Ball, Esko sales account manager, commented, ‘The Esko CDI can be configured to match specific current production needs, and has the versatility to expand capabilities as a business grows – something MPH know all about. We have worked with MPH for a number of years, and it is heartening to see the success they’ve enjoyed in recent years following the change of ownership.’
