Business growth and the need for increased capacity for production of blank labels has seen the UK’s Labels Fast install a new FS 330 Series slitter-rewinder/die-cutter from Focus Label Machinery.
The Leicester-based, family-owned company supplies products including printed, plain and digital self-adhesive labels, and printed and woven textile labels. It has been undertaking a modernisation program across its range of label production equipment, which the new system is a part of.
Configured as an inspection slitter-rewinder with a full rotary die station for converting blank labels, the FS 330 is installed next to Labels Fast’s flexo presses (also from Focus) and its textile label presses. It has been specified with a large capacity unwind that can accommodate a full master roll, with scissor slitting, pneumatic crush slitting and razor slitting options available.
‘As our orders have continued to increase, we needed to increase our capacity for blank label production,’ said Isaan Farooq, managing director of Labels Fast. ‘We already have quite a number of Focus label printing presses, so we had no hesitation in ordering the new label converter from them. The equipment from Focus is well-made and reliable, while the back-up service is excellent.’
