The organisers of Packaging Innovations and Empack 2024 have announced the full speaker lineup for the event, which takes place over two days (21 and 22 February) at the NEC, Birmingham.
Easyfairs promises a ‘360-degree view of packaging’ from the program, with more than 30 sessions, panels and interviews, including talks by ‘leading creative minds and those charged with delivering the sustainable transition to brands’.
Day 1 highlights include British Gas technical director Nick Kirk, DHL’s development director Nicola Harrington, and Margaret Bates, newly appointed head of EPR scheme administrator for Defra (the UK Government’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).
On Day 2, Beer52 and Wine52 founder Fraser Doherty and Peter MacQueen, principal lecturer for apprenticeships at Sheffield Hallam University, will speak, alongside retailers such as Aldi UK and Ocado Retail discussing refilling, and a panel discussion involving Marks & Spencer, Able & Cole and Beauty Kitchen and Reposit, on returnable and refillable packaging.
Additional panels include a Women in Manufacturing session on the Supply Chain stage, and a discussion titled ‘Maximise the EPR Conversation in Order to Succeed’, involving contributors from OPRL and IOM3 (Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining).
