Denmark-based prepress and platemaking specialist Reproflex Scandinavia A/S says its investment in a second Esko CDI Crystal 5080 XPS flexo platemaking system will enhance its backup capabilities and delivery reliability for its multinational customer base.
‘The benefits of the Crystal technology are significant, including higher density with reduced ink consumption and fewer stops for cleaning on the printing press,’ said Thomas Borge Christensen, CEO of Reproflex. ‘This translates into superior print quality for brand owners and a more economically viable solution for print houses.’
Mr Christensen added that the LED-based CDI Crystal XPS technology having GreenCircle certification was a crucial factor, emphasising its commitment to more sustainable production. Reproflex was also the first business in the Scandinavian region to become certified under Esko’s XPS Crystal program, providing quality assurance for customers.
The system in use comprises the CDI 5080 Crystal plate imager, XPS 5080 Crystal exposure unit and Print Control Wizard software. Mike Ball, Esko’s regional sales manager, said the integration of these hardware and software components meant that Reproflex are ‘completely in control of the quality and performance of their plates and subsequent print consistency’.
