BSP Labels has invested in a Reflex 330 Digital Finishing System from Focus Label Machinery, which it says will complement a recent digital press purchase, while also giving it single colour flexo printing and a range of finishing capabilities.
The digital press – a Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 – was also bought from Focus Label Machinery. Output from this engine can now be overprinted, varnished and converted offline on the Reflex 330 system, with what is claimed as perfect registration due to the Reflex’s servo-driven auto re-register facility. It can also operate as a standalone single colour flexo press for high volume production of blank and single colour labels, with UV or LED drying, die cutting, slitting and rewinding. A wide range of options includes turn-bar, delam-relam, cold foil, re-register laminating, over laminating and sheeting.
It is available with both semi-rotary and full rotary die-cutting and is claimed to have print and convert re-register speeds in excess of 120 m/min in full rotary mode. Rotary tooling from other narrow web presses can be accommodated via use of die adapters.
BSP managing director Martin Attaway commented, ‘We can now pass pre-printed digital web through the Reflex 330, where we can apply a varnish and die cut the labels in perfect register. For us, it is an extremely useful and versatile piece of equipment since it can also be used as a high-speed blank label or single colour press. We can now offer a comprehensive digital label service, alongside our existing flexo presses.’
