Italian corrugated packaging provider Scatolificio Ceriana believes a new investment in HP PageWide thermal inkjet printing technology will help improve the efficiency of its flexo printing capacity.
The company, which operates from a facility in Verona, has installed an HP PageWide C550 water-based system, which it says will help it manage its job mix more effectively, as well as helping to tackle customisation needs and tap into new food and beverage applications. It is claimed that the system affords ‘offset print quality for a wide range of corrugated packaging applications on both coated and uncoated sheets’.
Equipped with the HP PageWide C550, Scatolificio Ceriana says it will target litho-lam applications and improve the efficiency of its High-Quality Post-Print (HQPP) flexo presses, as the HP system takes appropriate jobs from flexo, freeing the flexo capacity. Production processes will therefore be optimised across both technologies.
‘This is not just a business decision, it’s a commitment to our values,’ said Giovanni Barichello, who owns Scatolificio Ceriana with his brother Marco. ‘The HP PageWide C550 press will help us offer superior service to our clients while aligning with our responsibility to protect the planet.’
