Samograph, the Italian manufacturer and distributor of inks, has installed a new mixing-dispensing station at its site in Sant’Anastasia, Campania, which will be used for blending water-based inks for flexographic printing.
The Inkmaker P32 dispenser includes a double semi-automatic stirring system called Stirplus, from fellow IM Group company IEC+, which the manufacturer says guarantees the correct mixing of spot colours. The dosing heads of the P32 system can dispense up to 32 colourants and additive components, with an output of over 1,000 litres of inks. The automated production line is controlled by IM Group’s Inkpro software, and is equipped with full traceability to conform to ISO food certifications, registration of formulas and processing history.
‘This is the third Inkmaker automatic-dosing system from IM Group that Samograph has invested in over the past two years, observed Salvatore Montella, director of Samograph. ‘Their accuracy, speed and reliability coupled with the power of their software, traceability and ink returns is unrivalled. We have been very satisfied with the results to date and are looking forward to starting production of our water-based flexo inks.’
