Interket in Sweden has invested in a new Evolution Series E5 press from Mark Andy, in an installation that mirrors one at the group’s site in The Netherlands.

The new press, purchased through Mark Andy’s Scandinavian agent Convertec, is a six-colour machine with a 330mm-wide web, and is equipped with turn bars, delam/relam, cold foil, two die-cutting stations, a sheeter, and a LED UV system from GEW. The investment at Interket Helsingborg replaces two label presses and delivers increased capacity compared to those machines.

‘It’s our first Mark Andy here and we chose it after hearing good reports on its sister machine and Mark Andy’s support service from our Dutch colleagues,’ commented Stefan Gustafsson, the print firm’s managing director. ‘It’s a very good all-round performer that is well-built, reliable, easy to operate and a real money-maker. It has also allowed us to bring some outwork back in-house.’

The specification of the Evolution E5 is of a narrower web width than many presses at Interket’s plants in Germany, The Netherlands and the UK, but 330mm was considered ideal for Sweden, indicating that each of the group’s businesses is able to operate with a degree of independence. Interket Sweden also has toner-based digital print and can organise its production and converting schedule accordingly. It produces a range of label products, from essential to identification, trace and security and branding.
