Polysack, an Israeli manufacturer of recyclable films for flexible packaging, has announced several leadership appointments intended to support its long-term growth strategy.

Alex Baumgartner has joined as chairman of the board, Yaron Bar has been confirmed as the new COO and Yair Gellis has taken up the role of vice president of marketing and business development. The company says that it is investing in its leadership team and go-to-market strategy in order to support customers, many of whom are under under significant pressure to adopt more sustainable approaches.

Mr Baumgartner arrives with more than 25 years of experience, including five as CEO of Constantia Flexibles. He commented, ‘This is a really exciting time for the global flexible packaging market, as companies contemplate what a full-scale switch to recyclable materials means. As brand owners make big changes to achieve 2025 recyclability targets, we will witness a major industry evolution worth billions of dollars to the players willing to embrace change.’

Meanwhile Mr Bar boasts more than 35 years of operations experience in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, plastics, and packaging. Mr Gellis adds another 25 years of industry experience, most notably having headed up flexible packaging at HP Indigo.

Yanir Aharonson, CEO at Polysack, shared his views on the new arrivals. ‘These appointments come at a pivotal time for Polysack and for the flexible packaging industry. We know the industry is on the cusp of a major shift towards a much more sustainable model that is reliant on widespread adoption of 100% recyclable products, and our Pack ‘N’ Cycle products are engineered to enable this transition. We believe the combination of our leadership team, our market-leading solutions, and our company vision positions us first and foremost to play a key role in leading this transformation.’
