Weightron, a provider of labelling services and industrial weighing equipment in Southern Africa, has invested in an eight-colour Ecoline RFP 340 LED flexo press from Rotocon.
The Ecoline RFP 340 flexo press uses a Yaskawa servo drive and control system. Each printing unit is driven by a separate servo motor, with 14 in total across the line. The printing units are designed for optimal ink transfer and pressure adjustment to guarantee crisp printing in high line counts, text, linework, solids, adhesives and varnishes.
Alongside the press, an Ecoline RSI 340 slitter rewinder has been installed. This is a fully servo-driven machine featuring three servo motors, an output of 300m/min, operator-friendly control panel, and an open machine design. The Rotocon service team successfully installed the RSI at Weightron’s manufacturing facility in Johannesburg at the end of November, and it has since been in full production for film finishing.
