The Catena plate processing range from Xeikon is now an end-to-end plate production system, with the launch of the Catena DLS, which completes the range and allows for autonomous plate production.
Uwe Stebani, general manager of Xeikon Prepress, said, ‘The Catena is an open system, designed to be open which means it can be connected into any software system and any other workflow.’ In terms of processing, it is also plate agnostic and can image any plate from any vendor.
Being modular, printers can purchse the different units as and when they require an upgrade of their processing business. Mr Uwe continued, ‘Some want to replace as they go, and indeed that can work, but it is a truly modular system so you can grow as time goes on.’
Benoit Chatelard president of Flint Group Digital Solutions & Xeikon CEO, said, ‘The Catena system will lead to better efficiency, the idea was to strive for digitisation of the process. This system produces a plate with no touch, which makes it more sustainable, efficient and consistent.
The full system available in October 2020.
