AV Flexologic has unveiled the third generation of its FAMM 3.0 flexo plate mounting machine, which the company claims is the world’s ‘fastest and most accurate’.
The machine has been completely redesigned during the past year and provides incomparable positioning accuracy of 2 microns, while being able to mount an astonishing 2000 plates per day with one plate being mounted in only 29 seconds.
Intended for short and frequent job runs, the machine is equipped with updated software which allows more synchronous movements than previous models. This intelligent system controls the interactive cameras that read the digital positions of the mounting marks using the patented Image Recognition and a robotic manipulator that picks-up the plates and positions them with an ‘extreme accuracy.’
The new model’s upgraded features include a robotic manipulator, used to transfer the plate from the conveyor belt to the mounting position, linear motors which are able to accelerate at 10sqm/s, plate ID verification via a split conveyor belt that is able to read QR codes and a second pressure roller.
The new FAMM 3.0 will be on display at drupa in Dusseldorf in June.
