Italian label converter Drorys Packlist has invested in a Mark Andy P5 in order to ‘bring its production capacity up to date.’ The Turin-based business, which employs more than 100 people and generates annual sales in excess of €21m, purchased the press through Mark Andy’s Italian distributor Franchini.

‘Because I’ve had such a long and trusted working relationship with Franchini, I ordered the Mark Andy from the brochure – I didn’t even have a machine demonstration,’ said owner Gabriele Bròcani. ‘I can honestly say that it has met and exceeded all our production expectations and allowed us to switch work from gravure and offset because of its ability to produce high quality at high speed.’

Straight after being commissioned the new Mark Andy went onto two-shift production using low migration inks. Seeing the extra productivity of the P5, Mr Bròcani decided to invest in new inspection rewind technology too and having been a long time Rotoflex user installed three new VSI 430 models soon after the press was in commercial production.

The 430mm press is ‘film-capable’, includes both a corona treater and web cleaner as well as eight UV-flexo print stations, web turn bars and a cold foil facility with standard die cutting unit. It is currently working on runs of around 20,000 linear metres.
