Telford-based Labfax has installed two FS Series Inspection Slitter Rewinders from Focus Label Machinery as part of its modernisation programme.
Both machines are configured as inspection-slitter-rewinders, with extended web viewing area, sliding splice table, dual rewind turrets and full rotary die stations. They will be used for finishing of pre-printed labels and for high speed production of blank labels, to complement the Labfax range of thermal label print systems and services.
The Focus FS model is available with web widths of 250mm and 330mm and can be supplied with several different configurations – including up to two die stations. The large capacity unwind will accommodate a full master roll. A number of options can be added to complement inspection and finishing possibilities, including digital overprinting and separate converting systems. Scissor slitting, pneumatic crush slitting and razor slitting options are all available
Plain labels for both thermal transfer and inkjet applications, manufactured for any label printer can be die-cut to any shape or size dependant on requirements
Labfax operations director, Claire Radnor commented, ‘As our orders have continued to increase, we were experiencing a bottleneck situation in our finishing department. We’d known Focus for many years and had no hesitation in ordering the two rewinders from them, both with full rotary die cutting. We have developed a good working partnership with Focus. Their equipment is well made and reliable, whilst the back-up service is excellent.’
The company supplies labels for the food & beverage, automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical and general manufacturing industries.
