In a television segment about red wine, it was a label which got Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby the most excited on ITV’s This Morning.
It was a Pinot Noir from Chilie, Cono Sur Bicicleta, with a label from Leeds-based Olympus Print Group, which caught the presenters’ attention using a thermochromatic ink, which turns the image of a bicycle blue, when the wine reaches its optimum drinking temperature.
Whilst most would not expect a red wine to be kept in the fridge, however, wine expert Helen McGinn explained that most people drink red wine too warm, and in fact some such as the Cono Sur, are better once chilled.
The label is printed using six colours, along with a high build screen and the thermocratic ink set, on a stock of UPM Raflatc Velmart White RP30 PET 30.
