A new rotary die-cutting unit has been developed by Gallus in response to the growing demand for fast format changes.
Rotary Die-Cut Unit Quick is a fully rotary front-loading die-cutting unit. It is to debut at Labelexpo Europe 2019, where it will be demonstrated as part of a Labelmaster Advanced line. At the show, live demonstrations across the four days are promised by Gallus to show attendees, ‘the fastest ever change of die-cutting format in the company’s history.’
The Labelmaster platform will also be used by Gallus to demonstrate its new Digital Printbar, an inkjet printing unit designed specifically for digital insetting of high opacity digital white. This can be integrated with the company’s other systems, such as the Labelfire hybrid printing line and RCS 430.
Both of these developments form part of Gallus’ focus on the digitisation of label production. It shares this view with parent company Heidelberg, and both will be focusing on this when they exhibit at the forthcoming Labelexpo Europe 2019.
Christof Naier, general manager of the label business unit at Heidelberg/Gallus, explained, ‘Digitisation is now part and parcel of label production. The Heidelberg/Gallus team will be fully embracing this trend at the upcoming Labelexpo Europe 2019 with a view to showing existing and potential customers new ways of maintaining and further improving their competitiveness in the age of digitisation.’
