Acorn Labels, based in Cambridgeshire, has installed a PLR430 rewinder from Daco Solutions to complement its three-colour Focus e-Flex 430mm UV flexo press.
After the company had made the decision to move to a 430mm web width, its existing rewinding equipment, with a web width of 350mm, became obsolete.
Sam Heneker, production manager, commented, ‘Once we had made the decision to go with a 430mm web width we had to look at the finishing options available. All of our finishing and die-cutting equipment is from Daco Solutions which also includes the DF350SR semi-rotary for finishing labels from our Domino N610i inkjet press. We like the simplicity of the Daco 3 spindle semi-auto turrets but they were only made in 250 & 350 web widths. I’ve always found them to be able to build what we need and persuaded them to produce a 430mm version.’
Daco Solution’s Mark Laurence commented, ‘It’s great to work closely with our clients and now manufacture the Daco PLR430 to suit the 430 web which is becoming more common with press manufacturers such as Edale and Focus Label Machinery. Acorn Labels have now purchased 15 machines from Daco Solutions and it’s great to see that they are continuing to invest in equipment.’
