The programme for BPIF Labels’ second technical seminar this year has now been finalised.
Held at the Daventry Court Hotel on October 31, the packed programme includes presentations from a variety of suppliers and printers, and will also see the association introduce its Good Manufacturing Guide. This has already had a favourable endorsement from one of Europe’s leading food manufacturers and also from the French label association.
From RotoMetrics, Bo Meyer will focus on how to overcome problems when die-cutting thin liners. Martin Hill, Kodak, covers new developments in flexo platemaking technologies while Durst’s Mike Englander delves into digital printing technology and new alternatives. Neil Porter from CPI UK will speak about the Centre for Process Innovation’s new printed electronics line and Matthew Peacock, BPIF Vision in Print, will present case studies of how to make green printing pay. Paul Bates from HP will present new business opportunities for label printers in the form of the HP Indigo range. Stuart Kellock, MD of Label Apeel, will speak about his experiences as a converter. The history of the pressure-sensitive industry cost index will be presented by Dr William Llewellyn from AWA Alexander Watts Associates, and finally, the day will be summed up by BPIF Labels chairman, John Bambery.
During dinner Mr Bambery and the Food & Drink working party members will discuss the Good Manufacturing Guide.
