A new digital flexo printing plate designed specifically for use with UV inks, the UVR has been introduced by MacDermid Printing Solutions.
The UVR is swell resistant in aggressive UV inks and also boasts low dot gain and excellent resolution capabilities. It is a 55 durometer plate and has exceptional drape, allowing the plate to wrap around a narrow web cylinder with smaller repeats and relative ease, reducing the risk of plate lift. It is ideally suited for the narrow web market, where UV inks are used heavily. The plate has comparable performance in water-based inks as well, and is compatible with the company’s Lux platemaking process.
Additionally, it can be dual-processed, either in conventional solvents or in the company’s Lava thermal platemaking system.
The plate is available in thicknesses of 1.14 mm and 1.70 mm, and in format sizes up to 1321 x 2032 mm.
