Hull-based carton maker, The Kingston Carton Company, has ordered two new Bobst lines to meet a 40% growth in orders.
Arend Buitendam, managing director, said, ‘We have seen a huge increase in orders over the past year, in fact our order book is up by around 40%. Despite the doom and gloom in the industry we are finding that there are orders out there to be had. Both new and existing customers appreciate the quality and the speed of response we can deliver, and we have won some significant new contracts because of it. But to maintain our service levels to customers we have to be regularly investing and we need excellent suppliers like Bobst. They constantly impress us with the quality and performance of their equipment and of their support services, from their engineers and technical support teams to their training and advice. That’s why we keep buying Bobst.’
The two lines ordered by the company are a Visioncut 106 LE die-cutter with optical register system and an Expertfold 110 A2 folder-gluer with multipurpose capabilities. The Visioncut has been specified with an optional speed upgrade from the standard 8000 sheets per hour to 9000 sph, yet still delivers consistently high quality cutting.
The Expertfold folder-gluer will process straight-line, crash-lock and 4/6 corner boxes at speeds of up to 350 metres per minute. The machines will replace older equipment, giving the company increased output on the same plant footprint.
Arend Buitendam said, ‘We are driven by what our customers demand of us. To keep pace with this we need to continuously update our production equipment and buying Bobst gives us access to the most innovative and best quality machinery available, which means we keep our customers happy.’
