Edale’s Beta UV flexo press
Printing and converting manufacturer, Edale, has appointed LR Print Solutions (LRPS) as its exclusive distributor for Poland, and in the UK has installed a six colour Beta UV flexo label press at Manchester-based Synkcreative.
LR Print Solutions, based in Opole, Poland has more than two decades of experience across all aspects of the print market and works closely with a number of well known consumable brands within the industry.
Leszek Warmuzek, general manager of LRPS, said, ‘We approached Edale about representing them in Poland because they, quite simply, offer good products. We were very impressed after visiting Edale’s Head Office in the UK – how the factory and showroom facilities look, friendly and helpful staff, as well as the cooperation with other market leaders in the industry such as FFEI and AB Graphic International. This is very reassuring to us.’
Bernhard Grob, export sales director, said, ‘LR Print Solutions originally approached us over two years ago; at the time we were in a contract with a previous agent – however, we kept in touch and when the opportunity arose there was a lot of communication with us, a meeting at Labelexpo Europe this September, and a subsequent trip to Edale where we spent a lot of time training, followed up by existing customer visits, we are certain that this is the company to further raise the profile in Poland, and they are a very welcome addition to Edale’s growing team of distributors.’
Closer to home the company has installed a Beta UV flexo press in the UK. The 330 mm wide machine has been brought in to help Synkcreative with the increasing demand for self adhesive label work.
Chris Simmons, managing director said, ‘We had some issues on one of our previous water-based printing presses meaning that we had to keep halting production to clean down the machine for something as simple as a run of 3000 labels, so when the decision came for a new machine, it was imperative that we switched to UV drying.’
The Beta is Edale’s modular flexopress able to run substrates from 50-250 micron and is ideal for both labels and tags. A modular press with a web up design offers the operator a wide viewing area, which makes job set up quicker, without minimising waste.
Mr Simmons was so impressed with the new press that he hopes it will help the company to increase sales by up to 50% this year alone. ‘It is an ambitious figure, we know that, but taking into consideration the potential customers that we have waiting on the sidelines for us to invest in this UV machine, I think it is more than achievable,’ he explained.
