Rako Etiketten, in Witzhave, has purchased a Gallus ECS 340 to strengthen the company’s production of adhesive labels in a cost effective and efficient manner.
The new press, which is equipped with 10 flexo printing stations, one screen printing station and one cold foil unit for finishing, was successfully added to the company’s existing 26 presses last October.
Since its commissioning, the machine has been used mainly to produce self-adhesive labels. Holger Schoer, production manager, said, ‘Efficient production operations are one of the key prerequisites for cost-effective and competitive adhesive label manufacturing. At just 1.1 metres between printing units, the extremely short web path of the ECS 340 has enabled us to reduce our waste dramatically. Minimal set-up times and the robust press design ensure excellent reliability and maximum performance.’
Printer Raimund Wiechert sees the benefits of the new press in his daily work, ‘Thanks to its technical granite core, the press is quieter than any other machine in its class. This enables us to deliver outstanding print quality despite maximum production speed. The self-explanatory design offers maximum ease of use and simplifies workflows tremendously.’
The focus for production manager, Arne Bir, is on providing the knowhow and systematic development that are needed to meet demanding customer requirements, ‘To achieve this ambitious objective, we need reliable partners that are on hand to provide us with expertise and first-rate service. We’ve found such a partner in Gallus and its presses, which is why we’re certain that the ECS 340 offers a highly professional production solution.’
