Customer project manager, Dario Casoli, explains the Gallus ECS 340 machine system with integrated ‘Plus’ update package to his large audience

The first Short Run Days event took place on 10 -11 April 2014 at Gallus in St.Gallen, and looked at short run narrow web label printing.

The event focused on the entire process involved in short-run production with variable data.

Live demonstrations showed the Gallus ECS 340’s extended range of applications and provided a detailed look at the user benefits of the new ‘Plus’ update package.

The ECS 340 shared the spotlight with the Linoprint L digital label press and the ECS C near-line converting system. The Gallus near-line solution showed the benefits of combining high resolution digital four colour inkjet printing with conventional high performance finishing.

The workshop programme was rounded off by an expert forum with specialist presentations on a number of topical issues including,  The future of inkjet-based digital printing for professional label printers and The key factors influencing flexographic printing.

‘The printing profession’s steadily growing need to handle short runs and runs with variable data is placing greater demands on printing systems in both conventional and digital production,’ explained vice president sales & marketing Christof Naier.

‘Today’s label presses need to support flexible, high-quality and cost-efficient production of short and/or variable label runs. The ‘Gallus Short Run Days’ offered participants the opportunity to find out everything they need to know about working with short runs in label printing and meeting the ever tougher market requirements with the latest know-how, relevant background information and a reliable partner at their side,’ he added.
