Kodak has issued a white paper specifically targeted at print companies looking to use technological innovation to implement significant environmental and financial efficiencies.
The release of the white paper, entitled Process Efficiency for Improved Sustainability, was marked with a presentation by Laurel Brunner, the author of the paper, at the company’s plate manufacturing plant in Osterode, Germany.
Recognising the increased pressure on companies across the print sector – driven both by consumer demand and a surge in environmental legislation, to improve their environmental credentials – the paper aims to highlight the constantly growing importance for companies to assess their processes and ensure that they are in line with the latest print technology.
Philip Cullimore, regional managing director, Europe, Middle East and Africa and chairman at Eastman Kodak, said, ‘Kodak has approximately 25,000 customers worldwide, and if we can help each of those customers hit their sustainability targets then it can only be a good thing. Small changes from individual players in the industry can make a difference, and we’re confident that these small – but not insignificant – changes will put pressure on the whole of the sector to become a more eco-conscious one.’
The author of the paper, Laurel Brunner, managing director of Digital Dots Limited, said, ‘Being asked to draft this whitepaper on behalf of a company that puts sustainability so high on its priority list is an absolute pleasure. The environmental agenda is one that is very close to my heart – it’s our duty to do all that we can to minimise our environmental impact, and hopefully this paper will show print businesses that they can do their bit for the environment, while at the same time increasing profitability.’
