Pulse Roll Label Products has made a significant investment in new labelling and safety data sheet (SDS) software in response to forthcoming changes in chemical labelling legislation.
Investment in both software and hardware for the new Lisam ExESS system took place earlier this year, as the company prepares to implement labelling changes early to give customers the time to ask questions and understand the new system.
The new EU legislation on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures – CLP Regulation (European Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008) – Classification, Labelling and Packaging – has been designed to ensure consistent and clear communication throughout the supply chain.
Chris Price, product manager, said, ‘We intend to launch our newly designed labels and CLP compliant SDSs on 1 January 2015 and will be communicating directly with our customers prior to this, to remind them of the forthcoming chemical labelling legislation changes and explain how this will impact them.’
Remaining stock, with existing labels, will be used prior to the new labelling and CLP compliant format being fully implemented in line with the 1 June 2015 deadline. New safety data sheets and labels will also be available in multi-language formats in due course.
