The Label Company, based in Cheshire, has recently installed a new 6 colour Proflex 250 press from Focus Label Machinery.
The Proflex 250 is a 10 inch wide modular in-line press and is equipped with quick change print cassettes, turn bar, laminating, die station, sheeting station, slitting, rewinding and a combination of Infra Red & UV drying systems.
The new press is to be used for self-adhesive labels on a range of substrates and was purchased to increase production capacity and improve print quality.
In addition to the UV drying system, the unit is equipped with standard dryers, which combine Infra Red lamps with forced cold air, allowing faster drying speeds without heat build up. The removable print cassettes can be interchanged, or removed from the press in a few seconds, allowing very fast job changes & clean ups.
Dave Summersgill, commented, ‘The Proflex has proven to be the perfect choice for us at this stage in our development. It has all the sophistication of larger, more expensive presses, but still has a relatively short web path and remains a nice, compact design. More importantly, it has increased our productivity considerably and it gives us plenty of options for the future, since the Proflex is modular and we can add to it as we need to.
‘The new press has enabled us to produce a higher quality of work, which in turn, is opening doors in new markets for us. Focus have been very supportive and their technical staff are always available if we need any technical advice.’
