New EFIA chairman Andy Young
Following a vote at a board meeting in December last year, the European Flexographic Industry Association (EFIA) appointed Andy Young of DS Smith as chairman of the association. His vice chairman is Neil Jones of Bobst Group.
Mr Young takes over from David Galton of Asahi Photoproducts who stepped down in November 2014 after five years of leadership. Mr Galton commented, ‘I was delighted to see that we had multiple candidates for the position and to see new members joining the board. It is a true reflection of the turnaround we have seen at the association, the number of new initiatives we are supporting and the role the organisation is playing in leading the flexographic industry forward. Both candidates are excellent role models in our industry and I’m delighted to once again see a printer leading the association.’
The board has also recently welcomed two new directors, Paul Bates of Esko as commercial director, and Andy Wilson of Coveris as non-executive director.
