The FL-1 press

A UK provider of mobile worker and barcode solutions, Kelgray has its own label converting facilities, alongside manufacturing its own print and apply labelling machinery. The company has added to its fleet following the installation of its fifth Edale press.

The chosen FL-1 specification was a 250 mm, five colour press with combination drying, which was selected following demonstrations held at Edale’s purpose built factory in Hampshire.

John Perry, production manager, said, ‘With its small footprint and the advantage of being able to use most of our existing tooling, it was without doubt the right choice for us. Early signs indicate that on some jobs, running times have been reduced by more than 50%.’

Having been a customer of Edale for over 20 years, this will be the fifth Edale machine installed at Kelgray. Alongside this purchase was an upgrade to an existing Edale E250.

‘The award winning FL-1 is Edale’s compact flexographic printing press with a footprint of just 2.5 sqm and a web path of less than 12 metres. It is ideal for companies looking for improved productivity and profitability from today’s short run lengths,’ commented Chris Chappel, sales manager at Edale.
