The 570 mm wide EXL Packaging press can be equipped with UV, hot air and LED drying technology, allowing users to print on a large variety of substrates
Clever Labels & Flexibles in The Hague and Geostick B.V. in Uithoorn, both part of the Geostick Group in The Netherlands, have purchased MPS EXL-packaging 570 mm, 10-colour presses for wider and faster flexo printing.
Geostick will use their new press for large volumes of self-adhesive labels and Clever Labels & Flexibles for the printing of flexible packaging. However both presses will be interchangeable to cater for different printing jobs within the two companies.
A bespoke cross-over and de-lam/re-lam unit will also be integrated on Geostick’s press to print multi-layer labels on the full 570 mm width.
The new EXL-packaging press is a second MPS press for Clever, replacing an older EP flexo model.
‘We were looking for two new interchangeable presses to provide extra workflow capacity and accommodate increased print runs and variety of substrates,’ explained Cees Schouten, technical director of Geostick Group. ‘These two new MPS EXL-packaging presses perfectly fit the growth of our group.’
Both presses are expected to be in full production in early 2017.
