Nottingham-based Midland Regional Printers was delighted to be named winner of the ‘Best use of flexo within a single forme’ category at the 2016 FlexoTech International Print & Innovations Awards.
‘It was a great honour to win this award for a range of labels we produced for food manufacturer, Pureety’s, Ultimate Marinade Glaze product,’ said Stephen Tew, owner and chairman. ‘The labels were printed on our seven colour press in four colour process and were then given an overall matt varnish, and finally a spot gloss UV, to give a really striking effect.’
The international panel of FlexoTech judges describing the winning label range as ‘One of the best examples of the use of flexo in printing a complex set of designs from the four colour set, with registration and vibrancy being maintained throughout.’
Mr Tew was joined at the awards ceremony by colleagues Stephen Bates, Catherine Tew and Matt Seaford, with around 450 people in attendance from leading labelling manufacturers around the globe.
Established in 1969, the product labels and packaging company now employs around 50 staff and has recently invested in new equipment to meet client needs.
‘I think there’s a bright future ahead for MRP, and winning the FlexoTech award is a sure sign that we’re going in the right direction,’ commented Mr Tew.
