Diamond Duplex slitter rewinder with shaft-less unwind
A high speed Diamond Duplex slitter rewinder from Ashe Converting Equipment and a Laserpin high performance macro perforation unit from Jenton International have been ordered by TCL Packaging.
Mike Golding managing director commented, ‘Volumes are continuing at high levels for us and our long term outlook is good with no adverse effects so far from Brexit uncertainty. The final December deadline for the EU FIR labelling regulations has made some difference to our order intake but what’s really noticeable is the large quantity of micro and macro-perforated printed films being ordered for fresh produce.
‘Many more producers are aware of the importance of correctly treated packaging films for extending freshness and shelf life and this is being reflected in our order levels,’ he added.
Worth £250k, both units are due for delivery at TCL’s Telford production plant early in 2017.
The latest purchases by TCL Packaging add to a seven-figure investment in new equipment over the last three years. This includes a third Uteco flexographic printing press and a second Rofin Baasel scribing unit, a solvent-free, Laminastar 4 laminator, a Panthere-4 slitter-rewinder and a Universal core cutter purchased in August 2016.
