A new GT series of inking and washing systems from BFT Flexo has been launched to save ink and optimise flexographic printing process by reducing consumptions.
Designed for water-based inks, the GT series is fully automatic and able to communicate with any other flexographic printing machine. It allows circulating ink in the system to be recovered before any job change, saving a significant quantity of water and reducing washing times.
After the printing phase, the system is able to recoup 1.5 to 3.5 kg of ink, which can then be re-used.
During the washing phase (thanks to special algorithms), the system is able to optimise any cycle to reduce water consumption by more than 50%.
‘We believe that digital print is – for some aspects – the future of our sector, but we believe that we have still to take care of the present: the reduction of the consumptions of ink and water can allow the flexographic print to still keep it competitive,’ commented Simone Bonaria, engineer and technical director of BFT Flexo.
