The new app aims to control solvent quality
The environmental plate washout solution, Ecowash, now has a new smartphone application. Spring has launched the application as part of a scheme to control solvent quality, and keep distilled Ecowash at its optimal efficiency.
As a solvent is re-used over several platemaking and distillation cycles, the ratio of the different components of the solvent will shift. Ecowash is formulated to remain stable over time and, thanks to its broad operating window, slight variations will not affect plate quality. Nevertheless, it is important to control from time to time and, if necessary, bring it back into specification.
The balance kit smartphone app makes this control step easy. Available via download on both Android and Apple stores, the app calculates the exact amounts of components A, S and H to add-back to the distilled solvent. The results of the measures can be sent via e-mail with the push of a button.
The app is free of charge to customers who order their balancing kit from Spring. Otherwise, an access code can be purchased for €400.
